The Moncton edition of Table Tennis for Hope marked the official launch of the initiative, bringing together athletes, families, and community members for a day where competition met compassion. Hosted in collaboration with the New Brunswick table tennis community, the event transformed a simple tournament into a meaningful fundraiser dedicated to supporting cancer research and awareness.

The event featured a marathon-style tournament across four divisions, giving players of all levels the opportunity to compete. One of the highlights of the day was the high-energy 3-Point Doubles Competition, which drew overwhelming participation and created an electric atmosphere in the venue. Divisional champions were crowned through the Rising Star Cup and had their names engraved on the Claire LeBlanc Memorial Cup, honouring Claire LeBlanc, a former Moncton District Table Tennis Association player who passed away from cancer at just 23 years old. Her legacy served as a powerful reminder of why the initiative exists.

Organized with the support of the New Brunswick Table Tennis Association and the Greater Moncton Table Tennis Club, the event demonstrated what can happen when a community rallies around a shared cause. The Moncton fundraiser successfully raised $1,100 in support of the Canadian Cancer Society — a strong first step toward building a larger, coast-to-coast-to-coast movement. It proved that every serve, every rally, and every match can contribute to something far greater than the game itself.
